Dragonflies - Children 1-2 years
The Butterfly Room is where the children begin to find their feet, exploring more independently with a outdoor play area linked to their room and their own ball pool. The children are able to explore and initiate more play and activities through self-development.
Bumblebees - Children 2-3 years
This is a bright, lively and stimulating room where children thrive to learn from new and everyday experiences. This room is where we target the children's learning ready for the pre-school room so they learn colours, numbers, shapes etc. Children enjoy the outdoor experiences and benefit from these on a daily basis. The Bumblebee Room is where the children grow in their individual development, become increasingly independent and make more choices for themselves in all areas of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage). They have their time for free play and child-led activities but also follow a room routine, which prepares them to move into the pre- school room.
"Throughout their time in the Bumblebee Room we encourage the children to be more independent by; self-registration, starting to potty train, putting their own coats and shoes on and feeding themselves.
We use flash cards on a daily basis for the children to learn their numbers, shapes, colours and animals.
Each day we look at the date, season and weather. Daily we have a range of focused activities, child-led activities and areas for them to explore."

Ladybirds & Caterpillars - Children 3-5 years
The children in these rooms are preparing to fly off to school so these are the main education rooms. Children are free to use their imagination through a combination of child-centred and adult-led activities. They have lots of experience of arts and crafts, messy play etc and also times when the children are taken outside, where they the have opportunity to explore planting and sensory experiences. Children benefit from our large open indoor and outdoor play areas. They have adult-led activities to sit and do, either in their key groups, as individuals or as a whole room. They cover all aspects of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) to ensure they are ready for school. Activities include writing their name, counting, shapes, listening, attention games and many more.
They also have free time to explore and enjoy playing with their friends.
